Walk-In Urgent Medical Treatment

Urgent care is a great option for critical but non-emergent medical concerns. Walk-ins are welcome, and X-rays and lab tests are performed on-site for patients. No appointments are necessary. Patients of all ages, from pediatric to seniors, can simply walk into our urgent care, check-in at the front desk, and are seen in the order of their arrival.

Carson Valley Health Ironwood Urgent Care bills visits as standard urgent care visits. Some urgent care centers that are not affiliated with CVH may bill services as hospital-based care. Depending on your health plan and the services you receive, this could affect your deductible and lead to higher out-of-pocket costs. Please review your plan benefits and keep this in mind when choosing care for a non-emergency medical need.

Common medical conditions we treat at our urgent care clinic include:

  • Cuts and lacerations
  • Broken bones
  • Burns
  • Sprains
  • Fevers
  • Allergic reactions
  • Animal bites
  • Rashes
  • Sore throats
  • Sinus infections
  • Influenza
  • Other minor injuries or ailments

Should I Go to Urgent Care or the ER?

It’s important to note that urgent care is not the same as emergency care, as the Emergency Department handles life-threatening health emergencies while urgent care does not. However, urgent care is often the more affordable alternative to emergency care if your injury or ailment does not threaten life or limb. Generally, urgent care essentially provides primary care services for people when their primary care physician doesn’t have an available same-day appointment.

Walk-In CDL Physicals

We understand that time is valuable for commercial drivers, and renewing your medical card should be efficient.

If you need a Department of Transportation (DOT) or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) physical, Carson Valley Health Urgent Care provides quick, same-day exams on a walk-in basis. Local fleet drivers and those passing through can visit during regular hours without an appointment. Simply walk in, complete your exam, and return to the road promptly.

Before you stop by, remember to bring:

  • Your current, valid driver’s license and current medical card (if applicable).
  • A complete list of your current medications.
  • Your glasses, contacts, or hearing aids if you use them for driving.
