Carson Valley Health provides diagnosis and treatment of heart problems and helps manage heart conditions and diseases. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in men and women worldwide. It is also a silent killer, meaning not many people realize they have it until they suffer a heart attack or stroke. Many people do not even know they have a heart problem until they experience a cardiac event. Your doctor can assess your likelihood of developing a heart problem during a regular physical, and if you have warning signs for heart disease, you may be referred to a cardiologist.
If you or a loved one has chest pains and/or difficulty breathing, don’t panic. Call 911 for an ambulance and do not drive yourself or someone else experiencing these symptoms, as the paramedics can provide life-saving care en route to the emergency department.
Cardiology is the branch of medicine focused on the heart, primarily its veins and arteries throughout the body that transport blood from the heart and back. You may want to consider seeing a cardiologist if members of your family have heart conditions, if you are a smoker or used to smoke regularly in the past, you have high blood pressure and/or cholesterol, or you have chest pains.
Some common heart conditions our board-certified cardiologists treat in Carson Valley include coronary artery disease, heart failure, blood clots, high blood pressure, and atrial fibrillation. These diseases are detected through state-of-the-art cardiac imaging services so your doctors can help understand how to improve your health.
We provide a variety of outpatient services that monitor for signs of heart disease, including:
