Claire Bauer was a long-time resident of Gardnerville, settling here with her husband Peter after his military retirement. Claire loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, her friends, the quilting bunch and the swimming gals. She also loved giving her time to her church and volunteering at Carson Valley Health. Claire died suddenly of a heart condition on February 19, 2016, at 71 years young. Her family started this award to recognize others who, like their mom, have a kind, compassionate, and giving heart, and are always willing to lend a hand.
